Shale...even if you had the hiboost kit...the haltec isn't just "plug and play" it still has to be tuned..saving the extra thousand goes for tuning.

as far as Fab. goes, it is of little cost to me since I know the guy that owns the shop and lets me work on my car there..(from time to time) still is a liability issue though. As far as this goes fab is irreavlent to my cost here. Tuning and the actual cost of the kit are my main concerns.

And no, lol, i would not use PVC pipe although it serioulsy could be used, hell people make patatoe guns out of these lol.

Well Hiboost sends the haltech premapped. no tuning required unless you up the boost, change fueling, turbo, etc...

I still think you are underestimating the necessary work, time, and cash.

but regardless, good luck on your adventure and keep us posted.

Well If the FM from hiboost is premapped like you say it is then I'll no doubt buy it from them becuase for 600 for plug and play haltech or i can go somewhere else pay the same price and have it NOT 'pre tuned' i think the obvious choice is stated here...this project will go underway the beginning of october. despite the serious lack of faith here I'm going to go for it. I'll keep you guys up to date once it goes. like I said..I wont use PVC piping. lol

Double check and make sure that if you purchase it seperately it still comes premapped. He may just include that for the kit price.

Don't get me wrong man....I wish youthe best of luck. If my 2.0 wasn't my DD,I would love to try and make my own turbo kit.....endless knowledge to learn there...and the satisfaction of making a custom kit.

Just alot of people talk, and hope about it, but don't understand the cost and time assocaited with it.

Good Luck, and keep me posted.

yeah is my daily driver....so I am not doing anything extreme to it until i get my new car at the end of next year. ( ice white volvo c30 )

Once I have that then I will boost the 3, and attempt to do a custom job to to learn more.
