Default sluggish/jerky acceleration

Hi everyone,
I have a 2004 Mazda 3 (4sp Auto, 2.0L hatchback).
I replaced the starter motor yesterday, which fixed the starting problem, but now the car has sluggish/jerky acceleration like losing power. Is there some sort of sensor or similar I have forgotten to plug back in? If it helps the check engine light was on before as it has been for some while and now it has turned off.

Any help is appreciated, TIA.

Go over everything you touched or removed yesterday, looking for anything unplugged or out of place. Otherwise Get it scanned for fault codes.
