Default Scratches - take to the dealer or fix yourself?

I've had a Mazda 3 Sport 2022 (Soul Red, surprise) for barely a month and it's already got four scratches and dents. I have the 3-year scratch coverage (wouldn't sell to me without it) and was thinking of going to the dealer to get it fixed. Based on posts from this forum and my friend's experience though they do a terrible job and just drop some paint on it.
I saw a few videos that suggest you can sand the scratches down a bit and cover them up in a way that looks brand new. Is it worth trying to do yourself?
