I have a huge problem, and not much time.

Im sure it has been posted, i suck at reasurching it. so im asking derectly, i have an 04 i think just i.

1st, i looked at replacing the headlights and first thing that went though my mind was wtf

2nd my driver side taillight went out yesterday and need to change it. i have no idea how to i figerd any one of you would have some idea how to.

if you could i just need, replacing lights for dummys thanks alot

 

In the trunk on the left and right side their are side covers that are held in place by push pins, to remove the push pins you have to use a small standard screw driver a slowly pull the head of the push pin upward, then you will be able to remove it and pull the cover out. If you break a push pin you can go to your local auto store and buy new ones. Once you remove the covers you will see the back of the tail lights and the light sockets, twist the light sockets and remove.

 

The headlights are definitely a PITA to get to, but it is possible to replace both low beams (I assume that's what you're talking about) with the lights still on the car. On the driver's side you need to remove the big triangular piece of plastic (the piece that has the little "door" in it). You should only need to remove a couple of plastic screws to get it out. Once you do that and can access the headlight grab the rubber dust boot and pull it towards the back of the car to pop it loose. Next unplug the harness from the H7 lamp. The next part is the real bitch.... the clip. The pop it loose you have to push it in (towards the front of the car) and down, then the light comes out (note where the alignment tab sits). Once you have the dead lamp out remove the plastic adapter connected to it as you'll need to use this on your new lamp. Install the adapter on the new lamp (don't touch the glass) and insert it into the headlight making sure to keep the alignment tab in the proper place.... I believe it's up. Redoing the clip is the hardest part.... basically just push in and down. It will probably take awhile to do, you'll be swearing and your fingers will hurt a whole lot. There's something of a trick to it, but honestly I don't know what it is, I just know that my last several changes have been much easier than my first ones. If for some reason you can't get it back on you can remove the bumper and the headlight from the car in about 10 minutes to have more space to work.

 

I was stupid and removed one of the screws, mistake.
I now have a lamp with one screw holding it on and a loose screw floating around in my headlight assembly.

 

Which part of the headlight is it inside? In the projector, or in the main part (between the clear outer cover and the chrome reflectors)? If it's inside the main part you should be able to attach a magnet to a string and fish it inside.... you may need to pull the light off the car to get the screw to move to the magnet. If it's in the projector you could either do the string or use a magnet extension thingy... again you'll probably have to pull the light off to gain access. If all else fails stick it in the oven and open up the casing.

 

It's just a screw, I'm not worried about it, and something about removing the entire front bumper for a headlight doesn't seem worth it.
