Replacing Engine 2006 in to 2004 Mazda3

Simple Question. Will any one know ifEngines are the samein 2004Mazda3 2.3L manualand2006 Mazda3 2.3manual.I bought 2004 Mazda 3with bad engine and I found one in 2006 mazda3 PLEASE HELP Thank you!!

i believe they are the same....
nothing has changed over the years so far....
(except the speed3 turbo/DISI engine)

Since ther introdution of the 2007 models, Direct Injection has beenthe major change and I'm pretty sure they won't easily interchange. However, as far as I know an '06 should fit an '04.
