rear wheel bearings
Hello all I am new to this forum. Was looking for some information when i came across this great website. I searched but didn't find any relevant posts. I am looking for the procedure to replace the rear wheel bearing units on a 2004 mazda 3 with abs. Alldata came up with nothing. If anyone could help i would be greatful. Thanks.
Only thing I have is a Mazda6 factory manual.
Looks like just a pressed bearing into the spindle. You'll need to remove wheel, brakes, etc to get down to the spindle, take the spindle off, press out the bad bearings, pack the new bearings, press them into the spindle and re-assemble.
Be careful to not tug on the ABS sensor harness as it can cause an open fault in the circuit.

Ibelieve that like many cars today it's a bolt onassembly that can be replaced as acomplete unit.

i actually just had my rear bearings done. now i cant help u out with all the details of how to do it but it comes as a complete replacement so u dont have to pack the bearings..i think their like 100 bucks i found them by going to google and typing in mazda 3 parts and like a million websites came up and they all sold them for the same price...so go to google and look them up and choose the site or place closest to your location..hope that this will help u at least a little
just thought of how u could find how to do it...u could buy the mazda 3 repair book at most book stores or your local library (i found it at my library) or u could go to any book store and get a car repair diy book and they usually have how to replace bearings...if u want specific details call the mazda dealership in ur area and ask them for a bit of input...t
