Hey all I just backed my 05 3 into a pole, and I need to have my bumper replaced.

I would like to get one of the newer bumpers with the scoop for your hand to open the trunk.

Can anyone tell me for sure if I could replace the 05 bumper with a new one, or will I have to track down an 05 bumper?

well with the 08 i have a scoop for me to open my trunk with my hand... mabye you should get an 08 one i dont know where you could find them...

 

Yeah I think the 05 5door model had the hand scoop too, or I might have been looking at the 06.

I am not sure why the sedan did not, but it would be nice to have one now.

I hope the new bumper fits but I want to be sure.

 

I'm not 100% positive, but I believe sedan/5-door have different bumpers and may not line up properly. You should be able to swap year for year from one sedan to another, but I'm not sure if youcan swap sedan/5-door.

 

That helps a little, the new sedans have the scoop, so if it works by model I should be ok.

Still would be nice to have a confirmed response.

 

i own the 2008 mazda3 and yes it has the scoop soo on that level you should be good

 

Thanks for the posts everyone, but I would still like to know if anyone has put a bumper with a hand scoop on a 05 that did not have one before.

Will an 08 sedan bumper fit on an 05 sedan?

 

i would assume so i mean they didnt change the style really of the car except for the lights and a few things in the interior. welll thats as far as i know lol
