Default Rear Bulbs

Does anyone know what number the rear bulbs are? Are they 1157s?

7443 in the Tail/Brake light and 7440 in theturn signal and reverse lights, if you have clear lens turns you need an amber bulb for the turn signals.

I like the Earthworks ones better, than the towers, but they all work better than the lights above with the reflectors in the stock housing, meaning you will still have your side clearance lights

If you decide to go the LED bulb in the stock housing route, be sure you don"t put super-white LEDs in a housing tat needs colored (red/amber) bulbs.Your red housings will look pinkish-red and the amber will look bluish-yellow. Rookie move, and everyone in the know will know. Stay w/red and amber LEDs in those housings.

Has anyone put in LEDs? Did you have a burn out or fast blink problem? I think I'd like to put some in to get them a little brighter but don't want to dump all that money into lights just to have them burn out or need that extra piece to make them blink properly.

You will need to put the load resisters in line or they will act like they are burnt out with the fast blink.

I put in LED bulbs and a third high-mounted brake light LED assembly and had problems with leakage that affected the turn signals and cruise control.
I had the bulbs in first and didn"t have any problems until I went all LED.
An 8 ohm, 25w resister across the wires (+ & -)to the third brake light and stashed

up inside the hatch trim solved that problem. Here"s how it looks w/the trim off.

For the turn signals, you will definately need to ballast them. Again I used some 6 ohm, 25 watt resister soldered in and jumped across the terminals for each side.
Problem solved. Sorry, but no pictures of that install. I just wanted to get it done.
The hardest part was finding a place to mount them where they would be safe and out of the way.

Thanks. Are they brighter than the stock bulbs or just for looks? Which ones did you use?
