Rattling in the cabin during (colder months) - Mazda 3 - UK Takumi -2024 reg
Hi All,
I bought my Mazda 3 series in Late 2024 it is a 2024 plate 3 series Takumi model. However during the winter month I had some rattling going on. As the weather has turned and it is warmer it seems this has gone away. I was keen to know if anyone have experienced this with Mazda 3 at all? It is extremely hard to identify where the rattling coming from as even recording it is hard. Any tips on this would be highly appreciated.

The best I can advise is find the noise and insulate it . If you go to a dealership they will do exactly that and in most all circumstances it is not covered under any auto manufactures warranty.
When we get a customer with a compliant like yours I tell them the same thing only add that we get $***.00 per hour lobar rate but the advise I gave was free. LOL
Just so you understand.... I am very well experienced and certified in many aspects of auto servicing and my own personal Mazda it took a couple weeks to finally narrow down and find an annoying das rattle that end up being actually under the hood and under the wiper transmission cover. LOL Its documented on this forum.

Thank you. I've owned many cars before, and I understand that Mazda manufactures thousands of vehicles that all go through quality assurance testing, so getting them all perfect is nearly impossible. However, I think these issues should be covered under warranty. In my experience with new cars, dealers would typically resolve these types of problems. I'm also certain that this is something minor. The problem is that the sound occurs when driving on uneven surfaces, and I noticed it seemed to stop as we moved into the warmer months. It seems a bit short-sighted to say this isn't covered under warranty.

Its not really a warranty issue generally speaking and I am not being short sighted as I am authorized by MAZDA do all but safety and recall warranty adjustments at times for Mazda. LOL
Each "complaint" is delt with by the dealership in a one on one capacity. Sometimes being a "jerk" (often how known for how they verbalize or write comments on forums)
get delayed in having issues taken care of while the dealership starts a case directly with Mazda corp so that the dealership gets credited fback for claimed warranty work that can be in your case a very time consuming hunt to find resolve rattle and small noises.
its as simple as that! All platforms have this problem. But most dealership will try to accommodate customers. Most service shops have a variety of non-Mazda materials that will insult rattles and vibrating interior parts. Auto manufactures have no control where a vehcle is ultimately where and how as in environment how a vehcle is being used.
We get vehcle all the time that are still under warranty in the shop and depending on who the customer is we either will see if we can do a quick fix as a courtesy or send them to the dealership.
BOTTOM LINE it is not a MAZDA only concern.
Your shack rattle and rolls... LOL have been happing with new vehicles since the 1980 when plastic was becoming more used in interior parts and trim and some engine comparts parts as well.
Hi, I 've unfortunately got a similar issue but my car rattles in both the summer and the winter, although the issue is worse in winter, as you would expect! The car has been into a Mazda dealer four times and the majority of the problems have been resolved, however, I do have one really annoying intermittent rattle that I am finding impossible to locate or record. I am now advised by Mazda that rattles are not covered by the warranty and they want to charge for any investigation by a Technician which to be honest I find highly unsatisfactory!

Because you are being vague about at least a problem source of your rattle no one can really advise?
Most rattles are not covered under the warranty by Mazda.
Tracking down rattles does not take a "technician" nor does it really take a qualified mechanic, what it does take is time. (time consuming) ALL rattles can eventually be located. Sometimes it take 2 people to track them down.
I suggest re-read the responses and take out the word COLD as my responses technically apply for any rattle.
