Default Radio Issue

I'm new to the forums, I own a 2005 Mazda 3 with roughly 82,000 miles. A couple weeks ago my radio/clock unit stopped functioning properly, the radio randomly turns on and off, the clock display randomly resets to exactly 5:00 and all buttons including the volume *** randomly stop working. When this occurs everything else in the vehicle (lights, volume control on the steering wheel .etc) remain functional and unaffected from what I can tell.

Any idea what could be causing this?

I'd guess the connector in the rear might be giggling loose. Take the radio out and reseat the connector.
