How do you remove the A-pillar? Any special tricks?

open door
grab rubber door trim along front edge of door frame and pull away from the frame
grab pillar and pull towards inside of car to release two tension clips (towards the bottom and in the middle)
slide the pillar towards the roof to release from the white pop clip at the top.
Viola

Uh... do you have airbags in them there A-pillars?

I do. the airbags are attached to the actual pillar of the car, not the plastic trim piece on the inside. You won't be able to activate the airbag by removing the trim. If you are concerned by it then you can always disconnect the battery, and step on the brake for a minute to drain the capacitors.
