If your car is still under warranty then you can probably get the dealer to replace it for you.

I had this same problem and worried about it too. It IS ugly.
I carefully scraped off the loose stuff w/my fingernail and installed a set of RockBlockers. No more problem.
If I had it to do over again, I would've gotten the dealer to install or repair them,THEN installed the RockBlockers.

BTW: They're not really that dark, just the way the ambientlight affected the camera that day/time. Actually, they don't seem to affect light output at all!!

had a buddy with the same problem on his 3....dealer will fix it, its the protective layer that mazda puts on the headlights.

becareful taking it off though, you can scratch the headlight.

I should've put this up yesterday, but I was watching an episode of Two Guys Garage on Speed channel. They were talking about buying used cars and one of the issues were plastic headlight lenses that get cloudy.
Their solution was to use a rag and toothpaste to help bring back the clarity, and it seemed to work pretty well too, and is much less costly than the product "specifically" made for the task.
