Well if it is possible, than why not? short RAM intake gives little less HP than Cold Intake but still litlle less weight and more room! The only thing i would suggest here in Florida is to get Splash Shield for your Short Intake, to keep heat away and protect it from water, just in case someone drives in the puddle by accident this shield may give couple seconds to get out without letting your intake sucking in water (just a recommendation).

the filter comes with cleaning instructions, you need to purchase the K&N filter re-charger kit (10 bucks?not sure) ... After 50k miles - or whenever you feel like before that, you hose out the filter from the top side out, put cleaner on it and re oil it (dont hold me to the order of these steps, i know the oiling comes last but am not sure about the water and the filter cleaner)
