Default No ignition fuse keeps blowing

Hi

I have a 2010 mazda 3 diesel mzr-cd

I was driving the other day and the Instrument pannel lost power and there were no dash lights other than the flashing key light. Got home and turned the car off and then it would not start anymore. Radio works and all other lights etc when the key is in the accessory position but when turned to the ON position there's nothing. I assumed the key was dead so I've replaced the battery and had a new key cut with no luck.

I found a blown fuse in the side compartment that is labelled "meter" and when I replace it the fuse blows as soon as I turn the key to the on position. I got a new cluster from the wreckers as I thought there might be a short inside but the fuse still blows.

Does anyone have any idea what's causing the short or a diagram of what else is on that circuit as it's a 30amp fuse I believe.

So I found the source of the short and traced it to the gearbox. Its the sensor with the black wire as seen in photo. I have no idea what this sensor is and can't find any info online?
