OVER POWERING: Mazdaspeed 3's horses are too much for steering and handling

I took this quote from MARK PHELAN

"I recently left a pot of chicory-laced French Market coffee brewing too long and ended up with a drink that was too strong, bitter and lumpy.

I learned two things from this:

• I shouldn't be allowed in the kitchen without adult supervision

• Mazda left the 2007 Mazdaspeed 3 performance compact on the burner too long.

The hatchback I tested is a jumpy, over-caffeinated handful that could have been a treat if somebody had stepped in and said, "Enough. It's done."

The Mazdaspeed 3 is the hopped-up, 263-horsepower, turbocharged, direct-injection version of Mazda's wonderful 3 compact.

For my money....... " read more here , need your opinion from Mazda3 owner is thsi true???

man, wth is this??
its called torque steer, and yes it will happen when you have 263 hp to the front wheels!
imo, these guys dont know wat theyre talking about.
car and driver never showed much negativety towards the torque steer.

oh and btw, the mazdaspeed3 is i believe the fastest car for the price tag or something like it.
it will destroy subies, lancers, Si's etc etc.... but they wont admit it :P

WTF did you think is going to happen with you floor it with 263HP to the wheels. a smooth, comfortable ride, no eninge noise? No spooling/whistling?...Its not a luxary car its a sport compact you are supposed to be with the car. If you don't like the Tq steer the engine noise and feeling the cracks in the road and extreme pulling and handling...Get the Fu*k out lol. They built the car for power, not to drive it like a damn caddy

Just goes to show some people don't get it...He'd probably complain about poor gas mileage out of a full-size pick-up too. Too much power in a performance car....puhleeeeeeze.

As stated...torque steer comes with lots of power combined with FWD. Learn how to drive it properly and you'll have a great time.

Theblogger contradictshimself IMO. Toward the beginning,he says, "For my money, the Mazda 3 is the best compact car you can buy at the moment in terms of looks, value and driving pleasure." Then goes on to say the car is hard to control - doesn't that contradictwith the 3being a described as a driving pleasure?
