Hey guys, something here is wrong here!
Whenever I back up into my steep drive way,working the clutch back & forth to get in position, on my manual shift, the car start to smell really bad! First time i even thought I back it up my car over a dead rat! It is really bad!!
I have driven many manual cars before, and this never happened before. Any ideas??? It is a new 2008 M3 2.3 touring with 900 miles on it.

you're burning up the clutch would be my guess. I've never done it in my car or in anyone elses...but i'd figure that would be it

if you're on the clutch and accelerating going "back and forth" over and over, i think you'd have potential to start burning it up - maybe rethink how you want to get up your driveway, or just fully engage into a gear instead of riding the clutch for long periods of time.

with only 900 miles, you probably need to get a better feel for it.

just my thoughts lol, im hoping thats where the dead rat smell is coming from...not from an actual dead rat

 

actually if thats the case id rather hope it is a dead rat lol. burning the cluth does have a strong odor to it, but nothing close to a rodent.. u havent even passed the break in period for the car so my guess is it probably is the fresh clutch. have an exterminator take a look at the car .

 

It sounds to me like your riding the clutch/too much gas/too much slippagetoo.
