Hey
I am thinking of mounting some hella blacks either behind the lower grill or taking the grill all together. Has anyone mounted 6" to 8" lights here before. I quess you would have to make some kind of mount bar to attach them to.

 

I know someone who mounted 5-6" driving lights under the bumper behind the lower grille. I'm not quite sure how he did it, butafter looking atit myself, I would pop some holes in the bumper reinforcement and use self-tapping screws to mount the brackets. You'd need some serious screws w/a wide, coarsethread, like lag bolts to get through that metal cleanly.
A lot depends on the mounting system the lights have however. If a pendent mount (ball and socket type.. rare) that would not be possible, but most traditional/usual mounts would support this method imo.

Good job!! That's an old thread too. I remember seeing it when I had first signed up on Mz3, and it wasn't new then!!! I had completely forgotten about it.

 

I had tossed this idea around several years ago.... actually I think I'm the one that gave Ag Bullet the idea. lol All it really took was searching for "black magic" in topics made by that member and Viola!
