Hi, My wife drove the car down the road and she said it instantly died on her. I checked it out and I couldnt get the car to turn over when I tried to start it. I replaced the battery and I can get the car to turn over now but it sounds like it is struggling to start and when it does fire it chugs very badly and dies within 1-2 seconds. It is 2007 Mazda Speed 3 touring 2.3L with turbo. This is my only familys vehicle so any help asap will be greatly appreciated!

 

Timing chain.

 

I just checked my timing chain and it is still in tact and tight. Ive read alot about this VVT actuator. Does this sound like the problem? If i fix it what are the chances one of the valves got messed up?
