Arrow Mazda3 S Touring 2.5

I have a 2016 Mazda3 with the 2.5 engine, had the car since new always dealer changed the oil as I had a maintenance plan. However I only have one oil change left on that plan and I want to do the changes my self in the future. I have been reading horror stories here concerning oil and filter changes. I have never been under my car for any great length of time and never even seen the drain plug or filter due to the covering. What am I in for before I try to DIY? What type filter do I have a cartridge type or hopefully the spin on type? What tools i.e., filter wrench and oil drain plug tool would I need? Any info that you could give me would be greatly appreciated...thank you!!!

Spin on filter, pretty easy to get to with just a small cover to remove. As for the drain plug, I have no idea; I use an oil extractor and pump the used oil out through the dipstick tube.

There's a YouTube video for it, pretty easy and straight forward. Basic tools, floor jack and stands!
