Hi,

I just brought in my 2013, Mazda 3, SkyActive, with auto transmission for 96,000 km maintenance and I received the following quote:
-Small Leak Timing Cover + Belts + Tension
-Part: $369.08
-Labor Hours: 4.5 hours

I have a Mazda extended warranty good up to 2020 / 160,000 km. Isn't the part and labor hours they quoted covered under this extended warranty?

I'd appreciate receipt of feedback about this inquiry of mine as the garage said they are checking on Mazda if the required job is covered by their warranty.

Did you ask the dealership about your warranty? Maybe they forgot to look it up.

I had the 96K Km maintenance done in another Mazda dealer and they did not give me a definitive answer right away and they told me they would check with Mazda about my Extended Mazda Warranty. I just find that weird that they still to check with Mazda office.

Probably because not all extended warranties are created equal; if they weren't your selling dealership they may need to look up the specifics of your policy.
