Mazda 3 (with 2.3L and 5 speed manual) vs. Scion TC (with the 5 speed manual) vs. Mazda 6 (with V6 and 5 speed manual)

What are your thoughts?

Which have the better performance, feel, handling, fun-to-drive?

 

My personal feelings (I own a 2.0L 3i and a 3.0L Mazda6 Wagon) is that the 3 is more fun to drive and is a terrific value, and would probably have better performance that the other 2.

If you need more room and like the 6, and you're getting the manual anyway, I'd get the 4-cyl Mazda6 (not available in the wagon). You'll get much better mileage with a small decrease in performance. I think the 4-cyl rev's up much faster. It's also made in America (Help keep me employed, will ya?) There are more hop-up goodies available for the 2.3L I4 than there are for the 3.0L V6.

I stick with Mazda as it's still a Ford brand, so I'm supporting my company.

 

well the 6 and 3 would beat a scion in nearly every department. Quality, performance and appearance. I got to drive a scion. Their pretty cool, but they are nothing to get excited about.

 

In my opinion, the TC is the best.
I own an '04 Mazda 3s 2.3L AT and a friend of mine just got his scion TC. I bought my car 1 month before the TC was released... if i waited a month i would probably have gone with the TC. its got a smoother and quieter ride. im a bit jealous of his car. but im happy with my 3.
Also... i like coupes.
so its all about preference. (not a fan of the 6)
but both the 3 and TC are great.

 

meh...Tc's are pretty boring looking. I was in the market for one of them too, but the mazda pulled me away...the 3 is alot nicer to look at...IMO

 

MAZDA MAZDA and one more MAZDA 3 better, engine is quiet enough here, kinda sucker sometimes i have not clue if my car is running or not, so no need for even quieter and smoother ride, than TC is only 2 door, same HP comparing to 3s, set in it and took it for a test drive. Interior is ok, the exterior is nice, but the features it had and the price are not compatible to Mazda, i did lots of research on that sucker, TC was my first choice, well first hate to drive to Toyota who tell me they do not have any TC' because they being sold out too quickly (f.... liers), the car itself is way too much overpriced, and (don't get me wrong toyotas are nice cars owned one before, very reliable) but why buy if dealership sucks, TOYOTA don't even know enough about what is on their parking lot WTF, way too much over priced, plain looking inside, and MAZDA what the hell did you want its a ZOOOM ZOOM car, love it

 

I looked at the TC before it was released and though about that, but the Mazda looks way better and priced better, and 4-doors. Toyota makes a good quality car, but Mazda does as well, especially since they are built in JAPAN, not the US. and besides Mazda is "zoom-zoom", what slogan does the Scion Tc have?

I can't believe someone is comparing a Scion to a Mazda? That is laughable. I have been a passenger in the TC before. The TC is quite nice. But the Mazda 3 is about 3 steps ahead of the TC. Better acceleration, more room, much better handling and it looks alot nicer!

 

i smashed a TC (both of us were stock, manual) who tried to race me on the entrance ramp of a highway near me...he wound up pulling over after he realized i was about to run him off the road...Mazda handles better aswell...alot better
