Mazda 3 sticky dash
I just recently bought a 2010 Mazda 3. I’ve read online about an extended warranty on the dash due to it becoming sticky over time. From what I read it was a 10 year warranty. My question is being that I bought it used I don’t know the original sale date so I’m not sure if I’m still covered or if I missed my opportunity to get it fixed. What would be the easiest course of action to see if I’m covered. Would you trust just contacting a dealer or do you think they would not be so honest to avoid having to make the free repair? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance
Just ring them up, give them the rego or chassis number and ask for the original date of sale, don't say anything else.
Also, if it is over ten years old, contact Mazda USA and cry poor.

Okay thanks for the reply. I’m going to make some phone calls Monday and see what I can do. Another question. How sticky/what is the texture like on the unaffected dash boards? I’ve never been in another Mazda so I’m curious. I’ve seen pictures of a few dashes that were affected start to peel off and become shiny. Mine isnt to that point but I believe it is much more sticky than intended and would like to get it fixed before that happens. Im just curious if it was just a bad dash material Or if I’m indeed experiencing this issue
Just an update for anybody else that may have this issue. I was still covered under the factory warranty. I made it by a month. It took them a day and a half to replace the dash. I have the car back now and everything looks great.
