you can do anything with money, but no its not a direct fit and EVERYTHING would have to be changed and custom fit...wait why in the world would you want to this anyway?

Yeah, I would have no idea why you would do that. You are looking a new mounts, custom made, custom exhaust, a protege transmission and engine with the ecu's for each one. I would assume that your tach and speedometer would be jacked up, you would need all new sensors for the engine.

2003 Protege 2.0L = 130BHP
2004-2009 Mazda 3 2.0L = 150BHP

plus on top of that the 3 is heavy car than the protege. So you would be putting an engine with less horsepower and Tq. in a heavier car?

The only reason why i could think of why you would want to do this is that there are wayyyy more protege parts on the market for tuning than the 3 and i hear a protege engine and ecu are a lot easier to tune/boost. i don't know is this is worth it in the long run though since you would be spending a substatial amout of money custom fitting the engine, transmission, sensors, ecu, etc...before you even bought any tuning parts...

I can probably speak for everyone here, if you do the swap, i think we would definitely like to see pics when its finshed...
