Default Mazda 3 heating

Hi everyone, I have a question about my 2007 Mazda 3. I'm sorry if this has been asked before. I'm having troubles with my Mazda heating. We bought the car brand new but since we bought it the heat has not been good at all. I can run my car for 20 to 30 minutes and the air coming out is just mildly warm and it never becomes hot. It's frustrating because we've been having really cold weather and my windows are always frozen from the inside. I'm going to call the dealership and ask about it, but I was wondering if anyone has had the same problem and if it is normal. Thanks

My Mazda3 2004 too has trouble to warm up, but recently I try something that helped the car heat up a little faster, what I've done is when the engine is warming put the thermo to cold until the temp reaches above the first line, hope that helps.

To comment... I warm my car for maybe 30 secs ~ 1 minafter start-up. Then drive about 3 slow carefulmiles (<3K on the tach) before the water temp gauge reads roughly normal and I have the beginnings of heat. Mine has always worked this way. Faster when it's warm out and slower when it's much colder.
I'd say that if you guys aren't getting that kind of heat in that kind of time, you should have a talk w/your dealer.

BTW: Neither of you state whetheryou have the manual or auto-climate control system.

Thanks, my car has a manual climate control. I think I will try to idle it for 5 mins and then go to see if that will change anything.

Does it get even colder at idle or if you step on the gas a little bit at a stop light does the air get warmer? I have almost the same problem and the dealer told me it was normal, I didn't buy the story he was feeding me.

That sounds like an air bubble in the cooling system.

Mine will be putting heat out after about 5 minutes at idle, but barely enough to get the area above the defrost thawed. Now about 7 miles into the trip to work I have to turn it down because it will be blowing you out of the car.

Today I was idling it for 25 minutes and when I went into my car the air coming out was hardly warm. It took about 15 minutes to get to work and still the air was just warm. A few weeks ago we went to Calgary and I remember it being really hot inside. So I'm guessing that it takes a really long time to warm it up. I didn't notice anything different when I was stopping at traffic lights at all. I'll try to experiment for a few days while it's still cold and if I find that nothing is helping then I'm going to see the dealership about it. I wouldn't think that there is anything wrong with the car, be got it new just 2 months ago

At idle when the engine is asked to do little work, it will always take a lot longer to develop heat in the engine.
It's best to drive it gently for the first few miles. You would not be wasting gas that way either
(zero miles/gallon.)
