Hi everyone,
I have a question about window glass driver side. I need to replace the one I currently have (has some scratches). It is original green tinted glass that came with car. I looked at Amazon, Ebay and dealers, I see different shades (most of them are much lighter and kinda of blue - mine looks dark green). Becuase of that I tried ordering one from dealer but they gave me lighter one and i had to return it. Vendor was also different.
Original glass has following markings: SAINT-GOBAIN SEKURIT, SEKURISOL, DOT 615 M40V AS2, E9, 43R-004529, .7 (According to other dealer i should have part number BHN1-59-510A (but they supposed to be the same)
Dealer ordered p/n: BJS7-59-510 It came as: HANKUK SEKURIT, TEMPERED T4, DOT184 AS2 M440, 43R 00108, 8 ..
The second window looks like it came from cars manufactured in 2015. Tint is much lighter and kind of blueish. That is my research comparing photos on ebay (I was checking only oem glass).
I am attaching 2 pictures, original and the one from dealer.
My question is, how do I find the correct tint?
Anyone had similar experience? How did you resolved that?
I recommend that you get the exact part number from your dealership. When it comes in to compare the tinting.
It is as simple as that. What is happening top you is not uncommon and few Glass shops and services we use for our customers do exactly what I just recommended.
The glass itself may interchange but there is sometime a slight tint variation so better to sick with exact number unless you have no choice because a glass was discontinued or superseded to new numbers..
Honestly windshield glass is the worst when it comes to different quality and color clarity and tinting even when OEM specification is used.
One last thing, you are assuming that the person that ordered the part order the correct one. You may check with another Mazda parts source Real OEM and compare the part numbers. If you can see the actual glass information there may have been more than one part number choice which could account for among other things the tint?
Use only your VIN to look up the correct part number at all times for OEM parts.
