Eibach's that scrape? That's only a (+/-)1.2" drop all around. Granted, the 3 series is low to begin with, but...? Is he usingcoilovers perhaps?
Lowering within reason can be a good thing.The trade-off, and there's ALWAYS a trade-off, is of course a harder rideand getting the suspension geometry right again.

I lowered a Volvo sedan I once owned 2" using springs. It made a hugh difference in the handling, but the car rode pretty high to begin with. I also had to make special tie rods to bring the pitman and idler arms back to normal and a shortened panhard rod to bring the rear end back in line. The car did unersteer more after that and I never solved that problem completely.

 

I loved the pro-kits on my 3i. They were a great DD spring. (Roads here in Michigan are about as bad as you'll find in the US.)

Every once in awhile I had to go across speed bumps at an angle, but only the real big ones. other than that the ride quality was very close to stock with improved handling.

I also went with the Camber links (Mazdaspeed) in order to get my tires to last. They would last ~40,000 miles or so (wear rating 300)

 

I've known/know manyw/the Prokit andwhile I don't own one myself,I have to agree. Everyone I know loves them.

 

well then i've made my decission, i will be getting the pro kit.

 

That's a good choice, but recommendations are one thing. Don't you want to do alittle research on your own to be more sure?

I echo virgin1 as far as research. I did a ton of it before deciding on my springs. I went with Progress Technologies (www.neverenoughauto.com). It's a 1.3 drop all around.Just a fuzzlower than the Pro-Kit. There is a lot of (good) information out there on springs, specs, etc. Check around. I got a lot of mixed reviews on drop from site to site. I actually contacted the vendor I was buying from, and researched the company itself (outside of forum information).

My 3 5door is a DD and I just installed my springs about a week ago. I have about a 2 finger gap b/w the tire and fender. It's a good look. Not too low, but achieved my goal which was to minimize the wheel gap and improve handling. I'm in my mid 30's so any mods I do/have done to my 3 has to be approached from a more practical standpoint.

IMO you need to determine what your goals are and consider what you'll be using your car for on a day to day basis. It's a good starting point.

 

A small speed bump here isn't actually that short...I exaggerated a bit. Put another way, I have to slow down to 15MPH for these, and you know how my car sits.

 

the researching began the second eibach was mentiond and H&R. I am considering H-Techs as well since they are like the eibach pro kit but give a minor drop i heard good things about them too. The pro kits i already looked them up and for about 200$ they'r not bad and i haven't read anyone complain about the ride yet so i will most likely be getting those and give a 1.2 drop all around which seems to be ideal.
