Nobody has asked. How hard do you brake? That creates some dust. I purchased a soft type of brush. Don't really need spray rim cleaner. I just use the left over soap from my bucket.

Hey everyone,

Thanks a ton for the advice. I took my Mazda back to the dealership on Monday, but the brakes checked out fine. Guess maybe the brakes just needed to be broken in... I'm also probably unfairly comparing it to my previous car, which never had a problem with brake dust. Oh well. I like my Mazda better, so I'll try and tolerate it! I am curious though, some of you have mentioned that certain brake pads are better than others- is it worth my while to check into this or will the factory supplied brake pads besufficient? I'm admittedly clueless about details like this.

yeah, I thought heard that we use Organic pads in the front and Semi meatallic in the back? I might be wrong, I'm not sure
Actually a ceramic compound(?) in the front and semi-met's in the rear. It's not necessarily that the fronts dust less, but the color of it is lighter and sheds from painted surfaces, like your wheels, easier.
I do wonder what makes upthe other part of that compound is though? I knwo that all pads are a compound, but of what, and what?

I run Ceramic pads on the F150, no brake dust, wheels stay clean. With the stock pads I could clean the truck and drive 50 miles to a car show and have to clean the wheels.
