Light in ashtray replacement

Default Light in ashtray replacement

Hi all, my bulb has burned out in my ashtray and needs replacing, how do you get the bulb out? it's a trivial thing I now, but things like that bug me

It's a pain, but you must remove the upper part of the console around the shifter, remove the two screw/bolts near thebottom of the ash tray unit and pull it out but carefully, then figure out how to get that damned socket out of the assy. I've done it a few times, but it's never easy. Poor design imo.

Leave the little door closed, then you won't see it.
I smoke and use an ashtray that fits in the cup holder, since Mazda made the 3's ashtray for a smaller hand than mine
