the oil still does go through the filter and contaminate sensors. i personally have never oiled up my filter, it was oiled by the factory (k &n filter) and i just installed it. the mazda service center i go to say they see that sort of problem all of the time. AEM isnt producing oiled filters anymore i dont think, just the synthetic dryflows now. i think im going to get one.

Hey hey,..if you read back a few posts, you'd see I just put the AEM Full Cold air intake system on my car,..and it has the new dry filter,... haven't had it on long enough to have to clean it yet,..but the install was alittle bit of a pain,..i paid like $250 for the full kit,..don't know pricing on just the filter tho. The hardest part about installing the kit was the removal of the stock intake.

the increased hp is probably the main advantage, but also, for me is the fact that I dont have to buy another one, so it saves money and is supposed to improve gas mileage.

better gas mileage. the only reason u can F up ur sensors is if u put too much oil on it...if you just read the instructions and spray only what ur supposed to, everything works fine killa.

i have never had a problem with mine, never got oil anywhere is shouldnt go. has anyone seen this product they have out now, http://www.knfilters.com/universal/apollo.htm it is just supposed to replace the stock air box, for cars that have a MAS i guess. its $149, cheaper than the $280 for the CAI they sell.

i just installed AEM's synthetic dryflow airfilter onto my AEM CAI and removed the old-fashioned oil filter. So far, so great! My car seems alittle peppier now, probably only because the oil filter was dirty...but im glad now that i dont have to worry about oil everywhere, and cleaning will be a breeze.
