Intercooler Question
Ok this is going to sound like a really stupid question but could you put an intercooler on car that isn't turbo'd? I've actually heard of people doing this. I've actually seen it done on an older civic he just had his inlet side from the intake and the outlet side to his TB...
If this could actually be done, I don't see the benifit from this besides making your air redicuously ice cold since there is no real hot air entering the engine through a turbo?

RE: Intercooler Question
I don't see why it couldn't be done, but the plumbingwould have to be custom fit and expensive for sure.
The benefits would be a slightly cooler charge though as you state, not that much cooler. The look of being turboed, in other words "posing." Still no BOV sound though. Everybody would figure out in pretty short order that you were not boosted.
But the cost ofthe intercooler and plumbing for the little advantage you might gain..... []

RE: Intercooler Question
Well, yeah, you still aren't building up enough pressure to have a BOV, I guess i could see it done more for us if the inlet and outlet side were both on the same side, so the plumbing wouldn't be so expensive but to have your inlet on the left side you have to have a u-pipe over the intercooler and back all the way to the right were you could use the MAF sensor... seems like way to much of a hassle
