Default Intercooler

So, again, its been awhile but i'm back now =)

So maybe its just me but i've been running into a lot of people running intercoolers on NA cars? I'm not sure what the point here is. I can't even a see an HP gain let alone spending hundreds on an intercooler and piping. Unless ebay it...

Any ideas why?

pretty much just a big a s s cai, nothing more, as for any gains....well it should keep intake temps alot cooler so that means more fuel and more power...maybe, mostly likely (with our cars) not, just show or rumor to add hp/tq to justify the cost or just doing test fits and they think its cool looking iono, btw in case your forgot you cant boost your car cause its an auto, well you can, but your trans aint withstanding more than (ive seen as low as) 4psi and the trans still lets go, so yea info given and welcome back

Yeah, it sucks =(. So i've heard that its the front differential that is really bad in these cars. I'm not even boosting and mine turn to dust at 90k miles but luckily I had 100k warranty and got a brand new tranny for $100.

This was a long time but doesn't cosworth make bad a s s front differential? I mean i know its like $2k or something like that but its supposed to handle insane amounts of hp/tq

ive never heard of the diff going but clutches and gears (auto or manual) are the norm when it comes to tranny failure, i dont think cosworth made one for us but i know tripoint engineering (racing company) and quaffie (differential specialists) has the only ones and they would b around 2k shipped :/, remember our cars dont come with LSD only the speed 3's

I have heard of diffs shearing their case and taking the trans with them. The seals will usually go before that though.

Not any real gains for intercooling an n/a. It will probably heat-soak and cause the IAT's to go through the roof.
