Impossible to verify 2010 3 2.0 AT HB VIN
Hello,
I just purchased a 2010 Mazda 3 around two months ago here in the UAE.
I was kind of in a rush and did take a rushed decision, since I saw the car had a left-side steering wheel but a Japanese chassis which hints at a chassis swap.
The Japanese VIN is giving me absolutely nothing in terms of the car but I managed to get another VIN from the OBD reader which some VIN decoders said that it's a Chinese market vehicle. I guess this confirms the suspicion that the chassis has been swapped.
It doesn't bother me that much except for the fact that it is becoming absolutely impossible to source parts for it. I need to change the motor mounts and all the garages I've contacted have failed to find parts using the VIN and they don't want to take the risk of purchasing parts for me that won't work. It's a beater car anyway and I just want to put some preventative measures on it to make it last a few more years.
The Japanese VIN is A2H01240K and the Chinese one is RHBYTKHLXA2001240.
Is there anyone who can help me understand what parts work on this car and what doesn't? I was thinking that since it's the 2.0 5-Speed Auto from 2010, it should share parts with its EU/US counterparts; no?
