Default Idle Problems-Mazda 3s

My car acts like it's ready to die out whenever I'm idling at a stoplight, etc. It runs fine when my foot is on the gas.

any thoughts on what could be causing this?

Details:
2004 Mazda 3s
91,000 miles

Thanks,
Dave

Your throttle body is most likely dirty....i would clean it out with some carb cleaner. especially with 91K

Have you changed your spark plugs yet?

Hey, I had the same problem - I took off the gas cap and tighten it and the CEL went off. I took the car to the dealer, they came up with code p2187 and reprogrammed the PCM. It fine so far.

I'd be careful w/that carb cleaner around all those electronics... particularly the MAF sensor. But who knows what it might do to the TB motor and related parts too?
'Not sure that's a good idea......
