I'll agree with Siber and M3 - The A/C works like the heater, the higher the RPM's the better they work.

I've also heard that the air cond. is only supposed to be 10 degrees colder than the outside ambient temperature.
If the outside temperature is 100, would you be happy with 90 degree air to cool you down?

97 degrees coming home today, the air coming out of my AC vent was 41 degrees and the cabin air was at 67 driving down the freeway (BTW all Temps are in Fahrenheit).

ok, I went to try it again and the AC light now comes on when on defog.....but I could've sworn it didnt before!!!
I do still stand by the fact that you can get cold air by setting it on defog without AC at a descent speed....good way to save money!!

BTW, When the Defrost is on th AC compressor is on, and if you have it set to all the way down the heat is not mixed in.

M3o, as Siber posted earlier, and as is described in your owners manual page 6-10 (under Climate Control System), when you have defogon, the AC automatically turns on. Also - descent?

I meant at a good speed above 40 maybe, the air from the defog gets cooler. so the AC is automatically on when in defog even if the light for the AC is off?

Although most of the info in the Owners manual is all something you have read before, there are things in there that are vehicle specific.

And for the reason the AC is on with the Defrost, it removes the moisture from the air, thus making the defroster more efficient in the time the Humidity is higher (IE Morning, rain storm ECT....)
