How much horsepower does it add when take off the hose to your stock air intake?

 

that is a good question. i would probably somewhere in the 0-2hp range since you would still be using the stock air filter and air box which would still be swirling all that air around instead of just going straight into the filter and intake manifold. I have wondered the same thing, also, would it make a difference to remove the air guard from the car to get more airflow going.

 

ohhhhh...when youre talking about the air guard, are you talking about that very small opening on the airbox?

 

The air guard that i am talking about is the piece of plastic in front of the left side wheel well with three slots in it for air to pass thru. but in regards to the stock intake lower hose, would that increase hp if taken off the car.

 

well i just took it off yesterday and noticed a major difference in sound (duh) and speed, i am now able to reach max speed quicker.

 

I think i will check it out this weekend and see what happens. i bet it would wotk even better without the stock filter and using something like the k&n filter that allows more air to come thru
