Default How to load cd's in the cd changer????

Hi Friends,
I bought a 2004 Mazda 3 yesterday and I am not sure how to load the cd's in the cd changer. When I load the first cd,it slides it and starts playing and there is no way I can load the second cd in the changer.

I tried following the manuals and it says to hold the load button for 2-3 seconds, and a beep sound would come and i would see a "CD IN" displayed, but when i press the "load" button no sound or display comes. Even before inserting the first cd,if i press the load button,I do not see the "CD IN" message.Only once i slide in the first cd and it start playing, that message shows up while its playing...

CD plays fine but i have no clues how to load a second cd in the changer. This is my first time with a MAZDA, please help guys if you can..would appreciate that!!!

The used car dealer advertised it as having cd changer ..

It looks like the sales man didn't know what he was talking about. On my stereo there is a little logo next to the LOAD button that says "6 disk indash changer". I zoomed into the pic of your stereo (cool feature they have there) and I did not see the logo. I had a similar experience when buying my 3. When test driving I asked about Sirrius and he said that all I needed to do is get an account set up and I would be set. Well, there is a seperate receiver that needs purchased at over #300.00 that he neglected to tell me about!

Congrats to your new purchase and welcome to the forum. Sorry about the stereo though. Maybe the dealer will try to track you down a stereo with a changer or give you some loot back. It wouldn't hurt to ask. Good luck.

Yup.That's the problem alright. Unless someone spent a lot of money to upgrade it, which as Centershock indicated they didn't in this case,a base 3i w/o sunroof doesn't come w/the changer.
Does it have A/C?
That seems to be quite some mileage on there too. I'd guess the conversion to be somewhere around 65-70K miles?
In '04 the changer came as part of the sunroof package, or could be installed at the dealer level for big $$$. No logo, no changer.
Congrats on the new ride, though. And welcome to the forums!

Thanks CS and Virgin,
Thats what i was thinkin that there's no CD changer in it at all....YES, it does have AC and steering controls but no sunroof. The dealer has given me a provision in which he will repair/change any original parts within 30 days for 50% charge....but i don't know if he would agree to this one or not as its not installed in the car at all......

One of the main reasons,i went for this was because it advertised that it has a cd changer while other cars didn't, anyways.....

One more question,my qork is 100 kms from home...do you think this car with 1,06,588 kms on it would sustain it for 1-2 years???

Appreciate your help,
Thanks
Mick

Hey Mick,

Maybe he will help you out. Just point out that when you bought the car it was listed as having a CD changer. I am sure you didn't take a few CD's with you to test it out. Just let them know that you figured that it was there since it was on the sticker. If you are planning on purchasing another car in a few years, slip that into the conversation as well. Maybe replacing a stereo now with the possibility of a repeat customer will also help you out.

Yeah Mazda has confused a lot of people by leaving the LOAD button on even the single disc decks. Another test (though I don't think we need one) would be to push to bottom left **** while in CD mode. The 6CD will display numbers 1-6 and have the number highlighted if there's a CD in that tray.

Like they said though the 3i didn't come standard with the CD changer unless you bought the moon roof. The 6CD changer runs somewhere around $400 from the dealer, or I'm sure you can find one for sale on some of the numerous mazda forums. I've seen them go for as low as $50.
