Horn Replacement
The stock horn on the Mazda 3 is about the most generic thing I have ever heard. Honestly, its the only thing I flat out dislike about the car. Is it possible to replace it with a little more 'beefy' sounding horn? If so, what are my options and is it comething that can be a diy project?

Hey Mike,
Common question. Check out this link: https://www.mazdaforum.com/m_57521/tm.htmGo about 2/3rd's down to icspots post. He's your best source of info foer questions like this one.
I myself added a Freeway Blaster ($17 @ AutoZone) low tone to the stock horn and it works just fine, but it does sound more "American."
For a more European sound, go w/the Hellas. Yes, they are more money but sound fantastic.

Yup like that other post says there are lots of options for what to throw in there. It's a pretty simple install, and if you're slightly comfortable with minor wiring then you'll be totally fine with this. Let me know if you need more info. on the install and we'll help you out.

RE: Horn Replacement
Basically you need a screwdriver, a wrench/socket driver, wire stripper/crimpers, two female spade connectors, one male spade connector and about 12" of wire (if that). And of course the new horn.
Check out THIS walkthrough from mazda3forums. I did the same thing with mine, however I used both the high and low fiamm freeway blasters, so I replaced the stock horn as well. Still for about $15 just adding the low tone makes a huge difference.

I picked the low tone freeway blaster tonight, hoping to get it installed this weekend! Does it come with the spade connectors? Or do I need to purchase those seperate?
