Default headlight help

Hello,

I want to change the headlight bulbs on the Mazda 3. I saw in the PIAA site that the size is H7 and 9005. What are my options? What puzzles me is the notes that it mentions "HID". Are all H7 and 9005's HID? Would i also need to install a relay or whatever? Thanks in advance

Default RE: headlight help

there are 2 different kinds of headlamps that were produced for that car. you need to determine if the car has HID or standard halogen. The HID bulb is a H7 and if your car came equipped with HID you need to buy the H7's. If it is just a standard halogen, you need to buy the 9005's. all of the necessary relays etc would already be in place if you have HID's. do not attempt to buy HID bulbs and put them in the standard halogen socket. you will waste your money and your time. and vice versa. remove the bulb and if it is long and skinny than it would be the HID and the projector unit (looks like a magnifying glass) inside the front of the headlight casing. otherwise you need the halogens. hope that helps, hit me back if you need further assistance determining what type of bulbs you have.
