I'm posting on behalf of my old dear, she has a Mazda 3 2016, 2.0 litre skyactiv and the heat insulated pad has broken off after becoming brittel. This apparently sits underneath the fuel tank and needs to be there.
We've contacted Mazda directly but they can't seem to find the part we need so I'm reaching out to see if anyone can point me in the right direction. My assumption was that it would be a type of formed metal sheeting but looks like I'm incorrect.
I've attached photos to help anyone identify the issue.
I have been using this for decades to replace OEM heat shields and other OEM heat protection material.
You may also consider buying a 2 inch 25 feet or exhaust wrapping material that you should also be able to install in the area which combined will make the temperature so reduced that you could physically grab the exhaust with your bare hand at normal operating exhaust temperature's.
Also very EASY to install
A few picture I just took I just happen to be cleaning the MINI's interior this morning.
The intake is wrapped. But more importatnly I wrapped my CAT (Catilitic converter) This MINI has been in heavy rain, snow and other operating inviroments for the last 4+ years having the warp on.
The other picture is my engine cover that at the request of a member I showed how to replace the OEM insulation with better quality heat and sound reducing material.
