Default Extra Key

What ho one and all,

I have two keys for the car but would really like another. From reading various forums, I believe that with two keys, it is possible to program a third, but if I only have one key, I must go to a dealer to get another programmed.

Is the two key to program a third correct?

I can see keys with the same code (SKE13E-01) on AliExpress and guess that buying one is a gamble, perhaps a gamble that I am prepared to take.

I have also seen an American video where he shows how to program a key at home, for less cost than a dealer, but..... Seems that one must buy his hardware and software for a one off job.

So my question is, is it possible to program a third key myself, at home? I have the two button (lock / unlock) key that has to be inside the car to start. It does not do anything else.

Thanks and toodle pip

I'd be surprised if you will need both keys. Usually one original is what's required. Not knowing what year model you have I'd suggest you go to a locksmith that does car keys and let them do it..If thet stuff it up it cost you nothing. I have the info for early Mazda 3's but it looks quiet confusing and you'd need to spend time trying to absorb the coding process. Also another thing is how many keys have already been coded? Many car makers only allow a set number of keys to be done. Early Mazda 3 is 6 keys.
