Hmmm, the 2.0 is a pretty robust motor; has your motor been abused or has it been subject to long oil change intervals on cheap oil?

it was a used car and at the dealership it seemed fine and i changed the oil about a month after i got it and i drive it pretty gentle. i’m thinking this was the previous owner but we have no information. i’m also thinking about taking it to the dealer and getting the service history. and when i changed it i used high quality oil so i’m not too sure what’s happening

Not that this is the issue, but I've found my Mazdas typically consume less oil between changes when I use Castrol Edge 0W-20.

That is very hard to qualify; variances of only 40-50 miles per tank are very common.

that’s understandable but my concern is that i used to be able to drive just over 290 miles a tank and it’s dropped to where i’m lucky to get even up to 250. and my driving style has changed and i pretty much baby the car now
