Default Double ZooM ZooM

Hey, Did ya hear about the new Mazda 3 speed hatch coming out at the end of the year? It's gonna be a monster...250 hp with over 280lbs of torque. I just might consider trading my m6 in for that, any thoughts?

The car should be loads of fun with it's power and it's dimensions. Turbocharded cars are almost always fun.

Here are some specs:
Exterior
Functioning as an air intake, the Mazdaspeed Axela's sporty grille and bold front fender lines, large aerodynamically-shaped front bumper with lower grille, 18-inch aluminum wheels and floating roof spoilers, all serve to accentuate the Axela's styling presence and are design cues that hint of its high-level driving performance.

Interior
With high-quality black tones in the interior, red stitching accentuates the seat colors. The interior also features a genuine leather-wrapped steering wheel and gearshift boots to create a dashing-yet-modern ambience in the cabin. In addition, exclusive semi-bucket seats, a blackout-style speedometer with indirect blue lighting and aluminum foot pedals add to this model's sporty looks.

Body Colors
Four body colors are available, including the model's theme color (True Red) and an exclusive new body color only for the Mazdaspeed Axela called Cosmic Blue Mica.

Dynamic performance
Based on an "agile and exciting" driving concept, the following exclusive features have been employed on the Mazdaspeed Axela: - The MZR 2.3-liter DISI turbo gas engine produces a maximum output of 194kw (264PS) and 380Nm (38.7kg-m) of maximum torque. These figures represent superior acceleration performance, ranked among the leaders of front wheel drive vehicles in this class. Even though it has such dynamic performance, Mazdaspeed Axela's fuel economy also meets the 2005 emission standard 75% reduction level (SU-LEV). Mazdaspeed Axela is simply a powerful, yet outstandingly eco-friendly, vehicle. - The six-speed manual transmission was adopted to accommodate the vehicle's ample power. Additionally, a newly developed torque-sensing super limited slip differential (LSD), finely-tuned drive shaft stiffness and a torque control system that adjusts according to the steering angle, taken together ensure the Mazdaspeed Axela's excellent driving stability. - Exclusive aerodynamics parts such as a large front underspoiler, a tire deflector panel and an underfloor cover to flatten the underfloor and channel the air flow under the vehicle improves driving performance. - Mazdaspeed Axela's sporty driving sound has been tuned to emit an exhaust note that adds vigor due to its low frequency. The engine's high frequency vibration noise also adds a nimble tone, informing the occupants of this vehicle's dynamic driving performance. - This model's high-rigidity body has been further enhanced and its exclusively tuned suspension increases the chassis' dynamic performance. Large 17-inch brakes with 8-inch and 9-inch tandem boosters were added in the front. These features provide the "fun handling" aspects of this high-powered model while maintaining its driveability. - The exclusive semi-bucket seats maintain an excellent grip on the occupant, providing a degree of comfort and support for sporty and delightful driving.

WoW, thanks for the info. By any chance, would you know when exactly it's being released and how much it's gonna cost?

Simple. That's a stock photo of a Mz3 interior. The MS3 has different interior trim and seats, not to mention the 6 speed manual. Try these.

yen conversion to american money is $20,918. It probably will cost a little more here though.

87 Turbo 11

I jus finished looking at your Car team space.

You got quite the SRT DSM Family there

I was curious about Kellys GSX VS That Evo IX. does Kelly have any timeslips? & does he have an adjustable FPR? He's got quite the set of injectors + Wally 190. Has he ever thought of a 255? or that might jus be overkill

Guessing his gsx would be running somehwer in the late 11's- early 12-s???

Anyways, thats quite the team you got there. Hope your mod's go well and maybe you'll have to bring in vids of that Rx-7

I am strongly looking at Mazdas for my next purchase in the fall. My question is if the Speed3 will only be in the hatch or have the same 'sedan' style option? That would be the only negative thing I can see about this vehicle, the price is fantastic!

If it only comes in that body style I suppose I will have to wait to see it for myself but may have to go for the 6 with mid-level options.

Thanks in advance, also if anyone could point me to a more robust site for '07 information (release dates..etc) I would be much obliged!

There may be some information at www.mazdausa.com

It will only be available in the hatch.

If it had been AWD, I'd already have my order in. It should still be one hell of a car with the LSD & turbo.

FYI...They've got at least 1 error in that information listed at the top. There is no way that it comes equipped with 17" brakes. (i.e. 17" diameter rotors)....The Shelby GT500 comes with 14" Brembo brakes and I can't see Mazda putting HUUUUUUGEEEE brakes on the 3. Nevermind the fact that you would leave no room for a caliper to attach between a 17" rotor and an 18" wheel.
