I am afraid the answer is no.

Congrats on your new ride (I saw your other post.)
You are correct. The answer is no.
I'm pretty sure its the same as it always was.... If you order/get the moonroof package you get a 6-changer. And the GT trim package comes w/the 6 CD Bose package as std.
Be thankful though. It seems and as might be expected that those units have more problems sooner than the single player.

Like Richard said not all models come with the 6CD. The thing that gets most people is that all the single CD ones have the LOAD button.

At some point I might swith to the 6 cd changer. It would probably cost $500+ from the dealer though.

It would probably be better to go with a middle-upper end aftermarket unit. Cheaper too.
There is a way to connect the steering wheel controls to a new HU, and since its becoming a more popular thing to do that its easier than it was just a few years ago.

Yup, super expensive through the dealer. If you're looking for one shop around on the forums as there are generally people looking to sell them. The only thing to be certain of is what year the car/HU are and bose/non-bose. '04-'05 models need '04-'05 HU's. '06-'09 for '06-'09 and then 10+, etc.

On '06-'07 models the DIS can be unlocked on all HU's. On '08 HU's DIS can only be unlocked on the 6CD, and '08.5-'09 it can't be unlocked at all (so only there on bose HU's)

I remember that, I sat there for what was like 20 mins trying to fit more than 1 CD in pushing the load button and nothing happening...............called the dealer and they said oh its a single disc most of those buttons are non-functional why the load button then, why the MD button then?????? Ah well it don't matter, I ripped it out and installed my Kenwood DNX7100 and all is good now
