Car stalling? Knocking?
ok i noticed that at about 2000 rpm the car stalls while its in second gear....is it knocking or what ive never heard a car knock before so i wouldn't know, i did advance timing on it and still running on reg gas so thats another reason why i think its knocking but i could just be too worried.
I have to agree. It seems you've had moreproblems w/your car in just a few months than I've had in over 3 years. At the rate you're going, that car is going to be junk in a few more months.
Whatever you are doing to it, stop, it ain't working.
i havn't had too many problems its just that ive never owned a manual before so maybe its just me and thats how the car is...i havn't done anything except for ground TB, Intake, advance timing. And the timing seemed to be already advanced from the factory so i brought it down prob 1-2 more degrees....maybe its just me being really paranoid about this car. Its the first manual ive bought and like. I baby this car like no tomorrow...due for the first oil change soon!
at 2k rpm in second gear i think i'm going atleast 15 mph (estimating based on memory)...if you're stalling at that point, there is something seriously wrong. i wouldn't have touched the timing period, either to advance or to retard. it should be running strong from the factory...if it isn't, i'd get it looked at by a qualified mazda tech while its still under warranty; you don't want to find out that by your constant tweaking you've successfully voided the warranty (that just might ruin your day)

yea i been on a roll to tweaking this car....short shifter is comming in soon as well as weighted shift **** and exhaust in a week. It only happens if i press the accelerator a bit hard trying to get an abrupt accerleration, i think its me flooding the engine with gas but i could be wrong. Once exhaust is on there i think warranty will be voided correct? O and i did the advance timing when i first got the car since it was a free mod which was prob about a month ago.
the exhaust will not void the warranty. one thing to consider though: if you make your mazda into a racecar - drop it to the ground, make it look like you go autocrossing in it, put racing stickers on it, etc. mazda has a clause that basically states that you are using the car for unintended purposes (racing) and they will no longer be covering your vehicle.
i'm not saying they do this in every case (its done on a case by case basis) but basically, it allows them a way out when you pull into the dealership, billowing smoke, saying "I'd like a new engine please"
juuuust keep that in mind

lmfao dam people here really pay attention, its a good thing though because the things stated above is making me think BUT i will not be putting sticker on my car only stick i have is the zoom zoom and thats under the hood but yea i treat the car good i only raced 4 times since i had it (no im not lying) but i do rev high at around 4500 sometimes so i can hear the vroom vroom....speeding when the road is empty though but still its speeding
.
I can't help the tweaking and the mods; I will be putting exhaust, headers, SS, and springs then comes the cosmetics then back to performance.
