Default can't remove battery

Hi,

I have a 2006 Mazda 3 i-touring. I need to replace my battery but am running into trouble. The issue has to do with one of the bolts holding the battery bracket in place. The nut is frozen/rusted onto it and the bolt just spins around when I try to loosen the nut. I have applied a lubricant to help free up the nut but since the bolt is not anchored in place any more it isn't doing me me much good. I'm not sure how Mazda thought it would be a good idea to have plastic anchor a steel bolt, except to make more money for themselves, but really? has anyone encountered this and what was the solution?
