dont bring the engine speed more than 5000rpm.
dont keep the engine at a constant speed for too long a period of time.
drive smoothly...shift around 2500-3000 rpm.

once your engine reaches 600miles/1000kms youre good to go.

According to the owners manual there is no special break in period. Following the break in rules will add to the performance and economy of your Mazda engine. The miles is 600 not 1000. (Note 1000 KM). During that 600 miles you should not

* Race the engine

* Do not maintain one constant speed, either slow or fast, for a long period of time

* Don't drive constatnly at full throttle or high engine RPM for extened periods

* Avoid unnesscary hard stops

* Avoid full throttle starts
