Default Brake replacement rears

I have a 2016 Mazda 3 2.5L S Grand Touring 5 door manual
they say I have 0-30% left on rear brakes, >70% on my front
that was at 27,000 miles. I do a lot of free way driving to work and back. some stop and go
during some of the freeway driving but not excessive at all. I don't brake hard or a lot
and they seem to be working fine.
they recommended to replace and I am now at 30,000 miles and going in for my next
maintenance check for oil change, etc.
Would it be just as good to have another shop do the brakes and use ones that would last
longer? If this is the case per the other postings I am seeing, it seems that this is a chronic
issue with Mazda. Do I need to have this work done by Mazda dealership?
thanks
