Default Brake pad change gone awry. Need help reassembly EPB

Hey guys,

So I was trying to change brake pads on my 2017 Mazda 3. I've put plenty of pads on cars before but never one with an Electronic Parking Brake (EPB). Well, there's a "maintenance mode" that is supposed to disengage the EPB motor to allow the piston to retract in order to fit the new brake pads in the caliper. I attempted to put the car into maintenance mode and when I did, I must have pushed/pulled the EPB switch the wrong way because instead of retracting the piston the motor pushed the piston ALLLL the way out. so much so that it actually unscrewed itsself and came apart. I'm going to attach a couple photos here to show you what I am dealing with. Can anyone help me properly reassemble this thing?? It just seems to screw on but I don't know how to properly do this. Anyone dealt with this or know what to do?

Send it to a brake shop for a rebuild.
