Default Bogging/surging issue

I have a 2005 mazda 3 2.3 automatic that I think the fuel pump is going. I have a corksport exhaust and I was hoping maybe a intake would help so I just put a corksport intake on but no luck, actually it's worse now couse it's now surging at about half throttle and when I jump on it. Which is why I was leaning more towards the pump cause I'm thinking it doesn't have enough pressure to keep up with the increased airflow it's getting. But I figured I should see if anyone else has any idea what it could be before I spend $400 on a new one.

Did you have driveability issues before fitting the intake?
Have you removed the new intake & refitted your old intake?

It's bogged since the day I got it and it never really had alot of power throughout heavy acceleration. I haven't switched back to the oem one yet as I'm trying to drive it a little to maybe hopefully clear it up cause I did have the battery disconnected when I did it.
