Best transmission fluid
Please post when and at what miles you personally serviced or had serviced your Mazda. Automatic transmission. Please post what you found in the transmission pan .
If you have had it serviced and you did not personally do the service at least one time then you have no real experience to post about the service and the oil used . None !
The exception is if by some miracle you had the transmission sample of oil analyses, in which case we all would be interested to read it and learn a few more real facts about the oil and the condition of your transmission.
BTW I have decided to do a transmission fluid pan and filter service to post on this thread. It will be done in my garage as always using simple DIY tools. The pictures will be digitally dated and also another post it showing the date and what was done . I already started with the engine oil and filter.

Since Callisto keeps offering alternatives over and over, which could be fine fluid no doubt, I'll just reiterate this is the BEST fluid. It is what I use. The BEST!

Just a few more pictures to show I am working on my Mazda in my garage not the shop. And will be driving the Explorer for next few days
The first thing is to get the front up on the Rihno ramps, then remove the 2 plastic under covers . This way it’s easy access to changing the engine oil and oil filter at the same time drawing the transmission pan and removing it. about 20 minutes labor.
A little technical information, Mazda states not to mix there Mazda ATF with other ATF yet world wide major companies that formulate ATF fully meeting and or exceeding the Mazda FZ formulas state compatible with Mazda FZ. And if anyone contact Mazda corp direct and ask them if mixing Mazda ATF with other ATF the meet or exceed the rating will void the warranty Mazda will state NO. They may give recommendations not to but will state absolutely not to mix compatible ATF . Please anyone feel free contact Mazda corp direct via email ask them and post Your exact response from them.
To date there has never been a warranty claim been denied from Mazda corp for use of alternative ATF that meets FZ performance requirements.
One company Amzoil outlines in easy to understand details why some automakers make you think you must use only their ATF like FZ. They don’t need to sell you on their products by using words like “ the best” or scare you by stating “use only FZ Mazda ATF” or “do not mix with other brand ATF” and yet you can find anywhere why with empirical fact based information.
Do your research and learn .
